PM Awas Yojana 2024:
PM Awas Yojana 2024 (PMAY-G) was launched on 1 April 2016.The PM Awas Yojana 2024 scheme is run by the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) and its main objective is to provide a safe and convenient pucca house to homeless families and people living in dilapidated houses.PMAY-G is produced to address the housing shortage in rural areas, which plays an essential function in fulfilling the goal of "Housing for All".

PM Awas Yojana 2024: Goal

PM Awas Yojana 2024: Benefits
•Financial assistance of 1,20,000 per unit is offered in plain areas, while for hilly, unattainable and IAP districts (Himalayan states, North-Eastern states and Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir), the quantity is 1,30,000.

PM Awas Yojana 2024: Eligibility

PM Awas Yojana 2024: Prioritisation.
•Under Prioritisation, multi-level priority will be figured out in the category of PMAY-G beneficiaries.

•First of all, priority will be provided to those families who are homeless, followed by priority according to the number of rooms; Households with absolutely no, one and two rooms will get priority respectively.
•In a particular social category such as SC/ST, Minority and Others, families who are homeless or living in houses with less rooms will not be put below families residing in houses with more rooms.

The scores will be calculated based upon the socio-economic specifications offered below, each having equal weightage:.
•Households with no adult member in between 16 and 59 years.
•Female-headed households with no adult male member in between 16 and 59 years.
•Households with no educated grownup above 25 years of age.
•Households with a handicapped member and no able-bodied adult member Landless households that derive the majority of their income from manual labour will be ranked higher among households with high deprivation scores.
Fixation of targets.
For SC/ST: 60% of the target assigned to each State or Union Territory should be set aside for SCs and STs, depending upon the accessibility of eligible beneficiaries.Within the set targets, the percentage of SCs and STs will be determined by the respective States or Union Territories from time to time.
Furthermore, States and Union Territories will be permitted to exchange targets between SCs and STs, if there is no eligible beneficiary in any of these classifications and it is certified.If all eligible SC and ST households are covered, the State or Union Territory targets will be designated to beneficiaries of 'other' classifications from the permanent waiting list prepared from SECC 2011.
For Minorities:.
In addition, as far as possible, 15% of the total fund will be earmarked for minority families at the nationwide level.The allowance of target for minorities amongst States and Union Territories will be made on the basis of proportional rural population of minorities in the particular State or Union Territory according to Census 2011 data.Minorities informed under Section 2( c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992 will be considered eligible for the benefit of this earmarked amount.
For Divyaangjan:.
Under the PM Awas Yojana 2024 scheme, special priority in the selection of beneficiaries to be helped has been provided to families in which there is a handicapped member and no able-bodied grownup.Therefore, such families have been provided more deprivation points at the time of house allotment.According to the Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995, States may try to guarantee that 3% of the beneficiaries at the State level are from among the persons with disabilities.
If more than one household in a sub-group has the same deprivation score, those households will be prioritised based on the following criteria:.
•Families with widows and next of kin of members of the defence, paramilitary or police killed in action.
•Families with a member struggling with leprosy or cancer, PMAY along with people affected by HIV (PLHIV).
•Families with only one girl child.
